Holiday Happenings at The Screening Room

A summary of all the events happening at The Screening Room for the entire month of December.

12/1/2016 – Tucson, AZ

December is filled with all kinds of Holiday treats.  The films that will be featured this month are March of the Wooden Soldiers (1934), the Original Babes in Toyland with Laurel and Hardy playing Wednesdays and Sundays.  The Downtown Noir Film Series comes to a close this month with New York Confidential (1955), Three Steps North (1951), and Gun Crazy (1950).  Be sure to visit the Screening Room for their Free Movie Day on Saturday, December 10 and enjoy a couple classic holiday films.

There are a couple of special events this month as well.  The Downtown Burlesk: Strip Local show will be Saturday, December 3 at 8pm.  Tickets are $10 and VIP tickets are $20.  This is an Adults Only 18+ show.  The VaudVil Variety Show will be Saturday, December 17 at 7:30pm.  Tickets online are $8 and tickets will be $10 the day of the show.  The variety show will feature live music, burlesque, female impersonation, and standup comedy.  This is an Adults Only 18+ show.

Comedy nights continue every Tuesday night.  The Switch will continue every first Tuesday of each month.  Every last Tuesday will feature the Wildcat Comedy Show and the Quality Assurance Feedback Mic will be on the middle Tuesdays so every week will be filled with laughs and hilarity.  The $2 movie day will continue with Way Back Wednesday with $2 tickets, drinks, and snacks every week.

Odyssey Storytelling returns on the first Thursday of the month followed by the weekly Music Jam Session every Thursday.  Monday Night Open Mic will continue to provide the best place for variety entertainment.  The Screening Room will be closed Dec 24-26 in observance of Christmas and Dec 31-Jan 2 in observance of New Years.  Visit www.tsrdowntown.com for more information about upcoming events as well as special offers and promotions.

The Screening Room has been home to the Arizona International Film Festival for over 25 years.  It has recently opened its doors for daily operations and is the only movie house in downtown Tucson.  The Screening Room also features live events such as concerts and open

Downtown Burlesk: Strip Local was created by ‘Mr. Exotic World’ 2015 Matt Finish, a local burlesque producer and performer (Don’t Blink Burlesque; The Arizona Burlesque Festival) who was named one of ‘Burlesque Top 50’ Most Influential Burlesque Performers of 2015 (21st Century Burlesque Magazine). Downtown Burlesk: Strip Local was made to serve the local burlesque community where open spots in shows can be difficult to come by and paid stage time is at a premium. Local Movie House Brings Films and Live Events to Tucson

A summary of all the events happening at The Screening Room for the entire month of November.

11/1/2016 – Tucson, AZ

November will be an exciting month at The Screening Room and they want everyone to join in the excitement.  The films that will be featured this month are Godzilla (1956), the Americanized version of the original film that started them all; Reefer Madness (1936), in honor of Prop 205, whether it passes or not enjoy a fun PSA from the 30s; the Downtown Noir Film Series continues every Sunday in November with No Man’s Woman (1955), Too Late for Tears (1949), Woman on the Run (1950), and The Big Heat (1953); and also the premiere of Become the Movie, three artists travel 50 states in less than 5 months to re-discover their American roots and reveal timeless truths in a morally declining society.

Comedy nights return November 15 with The Switch, hosted by Pauly Casillas.  The Switch will continue every first Tuesday of each month.  Every Tuesday will feature other comedy shows such as Wildcat Comedy so every week will be filled with laughs.  For anyone who is concerned about the $2 movie day, Way Back Wednesday will continue the tradition of $2 tickets, drinks, and snacks every week.
